Congratulations to everyone!
Its official. We have won the national scholarship chapter challenge by raising $3409.00 for scholarships for local high school students looking to study information security for their higher education. Thanks to everyone who donated and the hard work by board members to make this happen! National leadership will recognize our chapter with an article in the newsletter sent to all (ISC)2 members as well as a visit by leadership to our November 14th meeting. Please plan on attending to network with them and show them how awesome our chapter is. Also, if you know any high school juniors or seniors in the central Texas area who might be interested in applying for this scholarship, please refer them to the application page below. We will be accepting applicants through Nov 1. and be awarding the scholarship at one of our future meetings in the new year. Thanks again to all who participated in making our chapter number one nationally!!
Just to let everyone know, I have posted the slides from the last few chapter meeting presentations to our public chapter Google drive, which can be accessed at the link below. Also there are videos of the presentations, if we were able to make them. Enjoy!
Please find the presentation for the April General Meeting posted at the link below. It was a presentation by Kevin Dunn on “Hardening Your Security Posture”. It was an excellent talk on ways to go beyond patching to harden your various systems using checklists and tools. It also included a live technical demo of some exploits. Enjoy!
